From its earliest days, Fforest Masonic Lodge in Treharris has supported numerous good causes and local charities through donations made by Lodge members. Those charities have included: Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil Teddies For Loving Care

Teddies for Loving Care

Teddies for Loving Care was formed by Freemasons in Essex which quickly spread across the country. TLC, as it is affectionately known is one of the only Charities that is funded by the generosity of Freemasons. These little bears make a big impact in the A&E departments of all South Wales hospitals. Going into hospital can be a traumatic time for a young child and this is where the TLC bear works their magic as a comforter to children

Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation exists to help Freemasons and their family with financial, health and support needs. Grants are also made to a wide variety of local and national charities. With grants totalling over £5 million each year, they help thousands of disadvantaged and vulnerable people to live happy, fulfilling lives and participate actively in society. Over the last forty years, they have provided over £130 million to charities. The MCF’s work is funded solely through the generous donations of Freemasons under the United Grand Lodge of England, their families and friends

We at Fforest Lodge decided that this was an ideal organisation to benefit from a charitable donation, thus enabling disadvantaged children to enjoy adventure residential stays with their peers. We have therefore made a donation of £1200.00 to this organisation
